my hometown of Klawock Is the site of the first cannery in the state of Alaska! The island is traditional Tlingit territory, with Haida people migrating in the late 18th century.

About the Artist
My Tlingit name is Shuwadaak’w, I am a raven-mink apart of the Heinya Kwaan clan. The local clan house in Klawock belongs to the raven-mink people, also known as the Gaanaxadi people.
